There is a reason the Chinese named Ox as one of their zodiac animals. They are special creatures. I love this Ox. This Ox has his/her priorities straight. Perhaps a messy kitchen or dog hair to vacuum up from the carpet. But, this Ox knows that time for each activity is a blessing from God.
The book is new to me and I think I would like it. Doraine. Simple words can mean different things to the reader. A plaintive voice calls out, and who will listen?
Time to think sounds heavenly right now amidst end-of-school-year chaos. Thank you for sharing this! -- Christie @ https://wonderingandwondering.wordpress.com/blog/
Dori, this is a timely piece. Slowing down to savor life is important. My daughter's baby has slowed down time because she is still comfortable inside the womb rather than arriving.
Love how this poem slows the reader down to a plod--lovely!

ReplyDeleteHow appropriate that the ox has a quiet steady voice. Phlegmatic, with secret thoughts. Love it.
ReplyDelete"My sentiments exactly" <-- Mine too, Dori. Life these days doesn't lend itself well to time-takers. :(
ReplyDeleteAmen. I need more plodding in my life!
